I am not discouraged,
because every wrong attempt discarded
is another step forward.

There is a section of my yard that I haven’t been spending too much time in, because it is shaded until fairly late in the afternoon, when I am busy starting dinner and such. (I don’t use flash when taking pictures, so I need full sun or close to it.)
Yesterday, though, it was such a nice day that I did a fairly thorough sweep, exploring, trailblazing, just enjoying being outside, when I came across these gothic star-shaped seedpods. I took a few pictures of one, then noticed another, and another… all over the place.
And I realized that this whole side of the yard must have been awash in flowers, while we were away at the beach, and I missed the whole show!
I found one lonely lemon-lime flower, already beginning to wilt:
Such a bummer. But now I know they’re there and I can be prepared for next year.
Nothing else blooming in the garden at present, hope everyone is content with bug and vegetable pictures for a bit…
