A single gentle rain
makes the grass many shades greener. So our prospects brighten
on the influx of better thoughts.
-Henry David Thoreau
I know. It’s Monday and the financial world has gone to hell in a handbasket and here I am telling you to think good thoughts.
What else can I say? Let me remind you again of what Emerson says: We become that which we think about all day long. And so I aim to become hopeful, rather than fearful.
Look for the good. Use your resources and help who you can. Fight the good fight.
Anything less is giving up and giving in.
How are you holding up against the onslaught of bad news these days? Have you become a news and political junkie, or are you trying to block it all out? Has it affected your day-to-day frame of mind?
