Cassidy received a bag of hand-me-downs at Christmastime, and she’d been waiting until the first day of school to break out the leopard print sweater.
But just before we left, she pointed out that something was missing.
My vintage leopard-skin pillbox hat. And matching handbag. (It’s faux, it’s not “really that expensive kind”.)
Which I somewhat reluctantly retrieved from their place of honor; because truly, they look so much better on her.
Alas, after one hits 30, there seem to be fewer and fewer occasions on which it is acceptable to wear one’s leopard-skin pillbox hat.
When she arrived, she burst into the classroom hollering, “Look ! Look! Look at my brand-new leopard-skin pillbox hat!”
And man, I just about died laughing.
If you can’t imagine why I think this is so funny, you should really listen to more Bob Dylan, it’s good for the soul.
At least listen to this song here. And imagine my 4 year old prancing around dancing to it in her newly beloved accessories.

She does love her fashion accessories- I think maybe she's been eyeing those up for a while!
And when I suggested a picture, she dramatically looked left and up at the ceiling, like we were shooting for French Vogue. Modeling is in her blood!
