A sage thing is timely silence, and better than any speech.

Plutarch
It’s quiet outside today; I suppose the birds are hunkered down in anticipation of more rains to come. Rain always makes me feel a little quiet, a bit introspective.
Over the weekend the kids and I went to the Great Green Expo, and Cassidy picked out these pineapple sage plants to take home. I suppose they can used for cooking in some capacity, but for now we are loving the splash of color on our kitchen counter, and occasionally picking off a leaf and crushing it between our fingers.
Oh, my gosh, it smells just like fresh pineapple, better than any perfume or air freshener, and Cass loves burrowing her face in it and dramatically inhaling. Apparently the thing will grow into a shrub 3-5 feet high, and shoot with more intensely scarlet blossoms that hummingbirds will visit in autumn, when most other garden color has faded away.
All in all, the best $2.49 I’ve spent recently. What little things are making you happy today?

I am home sick and the big dumb white cat sits next to me and purrs nonstop. I don't have to pet him or anything. Just nonstop purring. It's so cute. He makes me happy.
