Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.
—F. Scott Fitzgerald
Fall makes me nervous. Oh, it cleverly distracts you with jewel tones and costume making and apple picking and all the pumpkin things, but really fall is a gateway into winter. Cold winter, unforgiving winter: dark mornings and barren landscapes and power bills that make me cry.
But there’s no stopping winter from coming, I suppose, so for now I’ll have to take comfort in cooler afternoon workouts, in pumpkin beer and sweater dresses and knee high boots.
It’s a long road, uphill, a slow march until spring. Just need to keep my head up and keep moving. We’ll get there.
In other words… happy fall 🙂
