Half the joy in life is
in little things taken on the run.
Let us run if we must- even the sands do that-
but let us keep our hearts young and our eyes open
that nothing worth our while shall escape us.
– Victor Cherbuliez
Today for your viewing pleasure we have the Grapevine Beetle.
Nearly an inch long, it flies in leisurely, swinging arches, and is easily confused with the three hummingbirds that like to buzz right over our heads like gleefully drunken frat boys.
Schrothtastic does not like bug pictures, and for that I apologize.
I, however, think this guy’s hangdog expression is really cute. I regret I had no grapes to feed him. I did release him in the wineberries, though; I hope they act as a fair substitute.
